Three 15 min runs on a stand and 2 15 runs on the track. I hope that is enough to break in the rod/crank etc.

I don't have near the experience with clones that gorgeman does, but the briggs stuff we break in on synthetic, whatever brand of oil you choose.

LOL....Thats a lot of work! Im just lucky byron breaks my stuff in before I get it but Im almost positive he does it with synthetic...Never had an issue.

I use Red-Line synthetic from the very start. Just rebuilt my clone motor after 5 races and wished I had left it alone it looked so good.Ya always gotta be tinkering with stuff don't you Marc.

Guys, I just got my replacement parts and was wondering if anyone opens op the oil hole in the rod. Right now it's only about an 1/8 of a inch in diameter. I cant believe that would give the rod bearing surface enough lubrication...

I don't think I'd do that. I don't with my motors and have never had a problem. I just rebuilt mine after 5 races and it looked great. Probably shouldn't have touched it as motor was fast.
