Artie has been in Norman, Oklahoma since Saturday. He is driving for the Factory ARROW team managed by BTK Motorsports since TOP KART USA does not have a National ROTAX program. I will try to keep this updated once I'm back in Norman. Below is todays final practice times. There are 39 karts in ROTAX Jr.
Thanks, Art

Just a quick Update after today's events.....
Artie Qualified 11th this morning, very well! In his heat race he dove it in deep and ended up 2nd, but ended up a little bit off on the tune, so a few guys drafted by him, finishing him 6th...
Tomorrow will be 2 more heats, and Saturday will hold a Pre-Final and a Final... The kid is doing great! He's running with the best 40 drivers in the country, most with unlimited budgets...And about 10 motors to choose from... Plus he's never had any prior seat time on this track, or in an Arrow!! Amazing!
Keep diggin buddy!

We are still on TopKart, just not for this race... Kartel doesnt have a ROTAX program, and isn't attending this race....And Arrow presented Artie with a great offer, so its a one-race deal... The Top Kart guys are 100% behind Artie, and we will be back in blue next race!

It's great to hear Artie has been running strong this week. It's too bad about the heat 2 incident. Keep at it Artie, I know you can do it! Good luck in the next heat and the finals tomorrow. Too bad you couldnt't be racing the blue, but it's good that the Arrow team recognized your potential.
On a side note, it's great also to hear that a few other NW drivers are doing well with Wimsett and Arscott running at the front in International.

The 2009 ROTAX Nationals are now history and were headed home semi-pleased. Saturday began on a great note as Artie was third fastest in the morning practice session seeing his fastest times of the event. Knowing that there would be a wreck in turn 1 Artie knew he had to keep to the inside on the start and sure enough a huge wreck and Artie put his kart to the inside and rode the curb and looked to be cleared when 1 of the karts rolled in front of him and blocked him. The karts finally cleared but Artie went from 23 to near the very tail of the 34 kart field. After some hard driving Artie made it back to 16th, far from where we should have been but much better than where we could have been. So with minor adjustments it was on to the 27 lap main event for all the marbles from over 7 days of work. Artie would start from the 16th position and as you looked ahead and behind it was a ton of karts in both directions. the green flew and once again a wreck in turn 1 but this time Artie was able to clear the wreck and after passing a few more karts was in a solid 7th place. As we stood on the fence and watched the snake of fast Jr karts make its way through the infield the ARROW team moaned as Artie was taken out by a less than smart move New Jersey driver Shawn Sharkey. Both Artie and Sharkey were freight trained by most of the karts behind them so again Artie was left only to try to salvage a few spots and bring home kart in one piece. After 27 laps of driving had he was able to make it back to 17th and thats were he finished. Overall the ARROW team was very pleased with Artie's drive and Artie was the top finishing ARROW in the Jr classes, Artie was 3rd fastest on Sunday morning in a field of very elite drivers, BTK Motorsports Team ARROW runs first class race team and were of great help helping Artie's tuner, Doug Sharp, in setting up a kart completely foreign to Artie and Doug's race prepped ROTAX was as strong as any kart in the field. Artie would like to thank all those who helped get him back to Oklahoma to race because with them it would not have been possible. Thanks.
