I just bought a kart for my son. Where can I find the safety requirements for him? He may not race right away but will practice. What does he need to have and what should he have? I want him safe and don't care about the cost when it comes to safety. I've found what I think to be the right helmet with the Impact Mini series but what about everything else?
Thanks in advance.

What you need.... Skid resistant clothing, neck color, chest protector, snell 2005 or equivelent helmet. shoes covering the ankles., gloles
Here is what my kids have. Chest and Rib Protector, leatt neck brace, wrestleling shoes, k1 driving suit, k1 gloves. Hope im not forgetting anything.
I would contact a dealer...AKA Joey McGuire...509-670-5437 or Chris Worley 509-378-4793 or Rodger at Kart o rama - 253-891-3490
Tell them what you need/want and they will hook you up. All Good people, will treat you right and you wont have to spend time on the internet trying to track stuff down and hoping you got the right stuff.
That is all my two cents. Call me or email me anytime with questions and we are the ones in the red trailer with the mess out front of it! :-)

Kid Kart drivers are not required to have a Snell approved helmet due to the difficulty in finding them. But they must be as least a full face DOT approved helmet.
If you have any questions please ask one of us here before you purchase.

My brother (Chris Worley) and I (Ricky Worley) at Midnight Motorsports LLC can get pretty much anything you need. K1 racegear, Leatt Brace, Vega and Zamp helmets and more. I know Vega has a nice junior helmet. Don't be afraid to ask any questions you may have also, our trailer always has an open door. It's the 50' white one on the fence at the track. Glad to see new interest!

I appreciate all of the help. I just picked the kart up and it came with a bunch of extras. Helmets, neck rolls, chest protector, gloves and a ton of parts. Looks like ill just need shoes (easy find) and racing suite. I'm gonna let him run it around at my work for a bit before I buy the suit just to make sure he likes it.
Thanks to all.... Hope to meet all of you.
