I have just bought a kart that does not have an engine yet mounted to it, so I believe this gives me a chance to look around at different engines and classes to see which one would be best for me. I don't have a lot of money to build up an engine so I am looking for a class that it's rules are very simple and don't allow too much aftermarket use.
The chassis I bought is coming with a Blue Honda Clone motor, I am not too sure which company makes it but it is practically brand new. I'm not too sure how good these engines are or what class I would be put into. The chassis as of right now is set-up for a 2 cycle motor so I can either, 1) Switch the axle out to run a 4 cycle motor and just keep the Honda Clone engine or some other 4 cycle motor or 2) Keep the axle and find a 2 cycle motor.
I am on the fence at the moment, I don't know if I want to find a KT100 and run that or go into the F200 class. The F200 class as I have read seems as though A LOT of building and aftermarket parts go into these engines when people race them, correct me if I am wrong.
So, if someone can give me a little schooling and tips on what I should do it would be very helpful. Also if anyone has any advice on my Honda Clone motor, please let me know!
Thank you, Trevor
