Just curious...what are the clone guys running? Metric or standard axles/hubs/wheels?
Axle soft-medium-hard?(I'm 250#'s).
Starting to look at some rollers and want to get something competitive with good parts availabilty. Lots of people say metric but seems to be alot more standard parts available.

Our clone guys are running a wide variety of stuff. You'd be better off looking at a metric kart as the vast majority of sprint chassis are metric and there are more parts available. Most of the stuff you see available for SAE parts is for circle track karts and won't be of much use to you in a sprint type chassis.
You can go with a 40mm or 50mm axle, we prefer 50mm. You would want to run a soft or medium to start with. A hard would give too much grip, bind the chassis up and slow you down.

I mainly want to run the common bolt patterns and sizes so I can have good interchange with other racers and good part availability. Looking at online places that sell stuff it seems like sae is far more common, but the hubs are smaller/shorter hubs and axles....maybe better for dirt oval setups instead due to the fact that the lower grip doesn't impart the forces to the chassis like it does on the asphalt. Thanks for the feedback, I'll hold out for something with a 40-50mm axle.

So I'm looking at an 50mm medium IKP rear axle, swift sprocket hub, swift 50x95mm rear hubs and 25mmx75mm front hubs. With the 50mm axle I don't see needing a 3rd bearing on the axle. For the frame I'm going to whip out the tig welder and basically copy the AX-9-4S for the most part with my own twist on the front end for more adjustability. Does the axle/hub package above sound like a good starting point? Our courses are going to be fairly short so I was looking at running 68/14 sprockets for a valve float speed around 37mph out of a stock clone motor. To get less chain and smaller sprockets I could also go 58/12 for almost the same ratio.....
