Just browsing around and looked in classifieds, it seems everyone has a lot of karts and stuff for sale. Is everyone getting out of karting? Also seems like very little participation on the message board, there use to be posts daily or weekly, now its monthly if that. Just curious.

The question is: Where did you go, Mr. AWOL?... Come back and race in another class.

It's almost December man. Karting isn't exactly at the top of everyone's' list. I doubt I'll race next year but Spencer and Savannah will.

Rickey, he's probably gonna claim something like, not enough time to work on his own stuff... Stan, it's not true for everyone, ( cough, cough, Chuck...) but I spent less money running a full season of shifter than any of the previous seasons in Clone... Just some food for thought. Pick up one of the karts in the classifieds and get your carcass back here!

Time? Maybe a small part of it, but it comes down to money more than time. If I do race next year, it'll be in a shifter so I can kick your **** Britt! ;D ZING!

Time? Maybe a small part of it, but it comes down to money more than time. Me not racing this year came down to two things, My son and money. My son is 14 and has always been a big kid ( he is now 6ft tall and 195lb. ) He just got discouraged running the JrII class because with a class weight of 310 ( and most in that class coming in at around that weight ) He was on the scales at 360-365. We all know you cant give up 50lb in kart racing. Anyway we decided to go big car racing at the local racetrack, so I bought him a car and thats what he is going to do. On the money side of things, most summer gas hovered around $4.00 a gallon and to bring the motorhome down cost around $200 to fill up plus $70 for kart entry fees for both of us plus food for the weekend. It cost us $300 to $325 each weekend we raced, basically it is cost of gas that hurts. To run all 8 kart races in a go kart season costs us around $2600-$2700 to race, and thats if we only buy one set of tires at the beginning of the season.Thats a lot of money to just play in a go kart. We can run his racecar locally all season for a 1/4 of that. To get our go kart fix we ran as many dirt races here in town as we had time to make, so that was fun. I am going to try to make some kart races myself next year if I can find time. I also bought my son his first regular street car so he can fix up so he can drive it when he gets his drivers permit next year, so I was also helping him with that alot this summer. basically just alot going on that keep me from racing in Tri Cities.
