My family and I spent the Christmas holiday in Maui. First, I can't believe it took me 43 years to get there. Second, I thought I might as well stop by the island's kart track and see how they do it Hawaiian style. If it weren't Christmas Day, I'm sure they would have been racing... (More pictures to come. I can only post one at a time from the phone...) -------------------------------- Bored enough to have sent this from my iPhone using ProBoards. Attachments:

No need for to haul your kart in a trailer, there is onsite storage in these containers. Covered grid. It gets kind of sunny here... The scoring tower looks like a cozy place. The start/finish line. There are tires everywhere... It's a pancake flat course with this 180* turn at the beginning or end of the route, depending on which way they run the race. (It's set up to run both ways.) Another view of the course. Looks like a good racing surface. Drive-on scales. This scene looks familiar... And finally they take care of their spectators with covered viewing. It was a fun little side trip to our vacation to get a peek at this track, but unfortunately they race on Saturday nights and I didn't think about it until Tuesday. I also realize just how fortunate we are to have such a great facility to race our karts in Richland.

Cool. We are thinking of going there later this year. I checked out their website last night. I guess it has everything a guy needs so maybe I can retire there after all.
