Could someone explain to me what the PRD class consists of? I want to sell my WF and Clone karts to buy a shifter, but not interested in the sealed Rotax thing. Are these sealed, don't touch or do maintenance yourself motors like the Rotax? Id like to avoid that expense.
How do they stack up against the Rotax? Are they all shifters? Are they 2 or 4 stroke? How many are in the club roughly?
I'd appreciate it if someone could educate me.
Thanks, Larry

Larry,
The PRD is a 125cc single speed TAG engine somewhat similar to the rotax. They are not sealed and you can rebuild them yourself. I really like them personally. I currently have two ready to race karts for sale, and can order new engines as well. We have 4-7 at the track on raceday. Any more questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks, I got some input from Andy D. as well, and now have a pretty good understanding what the PRD is all about. For me to go PRD I need to either sell my Clone and buy a setup or sell both the Clone and WF to buy an entire kart. I'm working on it.
Thanks for the reply, I get smarter by the day, enjoying practice sessions and meeting you guys, it's all good!

I understand there are two PRD RK-125 motors, the 125 W07, high c.r. 12.5:1, another running 7.5:1 listed as a "Hobby" motor. Which are you all running at the club as TAG motors, and do you need or are you running race gas? How much is race gas around here?
