I have been talking to some guys from Montana that want to race in spokane on July 18(BBQ after race) and 19th, they want to run yamahas. They have about 5-10 guys i believe. They want to see how many of us would like to go up there and race with them. As I know the spokane kart club doesnt have a yamaha class, but I am sure they will let us run for non points if we bring 10 karts combined, so we shouldnt have a problem. It seems like it may be hard for everyone to be running the same tires, exhaust and such. I believe they are running YHC 7.10 tires with A2 and L2 pipes. My guess is with the tires and pipe equal drivers, they will be faster, so I am not sure if anybody is interested. I have couple sets of used YHC tires, and one set of 7.10. I will prolly through on my formula y pipe.
you can email me at mccauley.vargas@gmail.com and let me know if you are interested, the sooner the better.

Do you guys think that 7.10 are faster than 6.0 on a yamaha? Or is that just maybe the rules they race under? The 6.0 might let you free it up a little more.
I Did call Randy Wilson at Spokane and he said he would charge any Tri-city Kart club member there member rate for that weekend. With that they are having a free bar b que on Saturday night. Double the race time and free food is sounding good to me.

With the pipe setup we have to run now, the 6.0 is definitely faster, no need for all that tire, and its harder to get the kart freed up enough to be fast with the 7.10... If we were running the pipe again it would probably be a draw on which tire worked the best...
I ran Laci's backup kart with a Formula-Y pipe on it a few weeks ago at practice, and boy was it fun! It lets that engine breathe soooo much better, its much happier when its not choking itself all race... ;D ;D Its waaay faster too, I hit Laci down the straightaway hard enough to smash the nose under the front end of the kart... geez, she finally quit complaining about it this week! ;D
I'd really like to go back to the old pipe... It's easier on engines, runs cooler, and it's easier to tune too!! And we have about 12 of the big pipes sitting in the garage... we could supply the whole class with a pipe!! LOL

normally the formula y pipe tires is the 7.10, so if thats the pipe i run i would run that, with the crappy pipe we use and its limited availability, i don't think anybody would buy that pipe unless they had to and for one race its kinda senseless. with our pipe the 7.10 is a bad choice, but once you start getting the power then you will run into a difference, most of the a2 and l2 pipes and high hp kt pipes were designed to be run with 7.10, by IKF rules normally. personally i like the formula y pipe better than most of the a2 and l2 pipes, so that would be my deciding factor. any chance we have to run on anything but burris im in favor, so its more of a open class, pick your pipe, drivetrain, and tires, and let the best man win we kinda need to keep in mind that this is some where near a 4-6 hr one way drive for them to spokane, asking them to come to tricities is one alot to ask plus, kinda unfair considering how much experience the novices will even have at our track over them. also keep in mind this is for fun nobody is twisting anybodys arms to do this. i would love to see 20+ yamaha field, regardless of where or what tires we run.

I'm considering going and I can fit alot of extra karts in my trailer IF anybody is interested I would charge $25 per kart unless we pile them deep than it would be less.
It would be cool if we could get a big group of us up there no matter what class they race.

You know, there is alot of Yamaha talk between Spokane, and TCKC, but you gotta remember the people in Tacoma... they have a Yamaha Heavy Class that is pretty dang decent and it would be awesome to get them, Us and Spokane and a few others to run Gold Cup next year or this year... Maybe since Spokane & Tacoma is Yamaha Heavy (Pipe) then maybe we should change to it and have to so maybe the Tacoma or Spokane people can come run... it would be pretty cool if we made a Yamaha Series like Portland and Pats did but with Yamaha and Rotax/Tag and 4 cycle

I would love to see Yamaha come back as an IKF traveling class. We have a great field here, and several other tracks have good turnouts, its just a matter of getting those guys to travel to Gold Cup races. I'm not sure what it would take to get it recognized as an IKF class again... Mike? Corey? What would've IKF said if we had 15 guys show up to our gold cups with yamahas? Go home? Traveling to some other tracks to promote the class would be awesome too... Count Laci and I in for Spokane if we dont have a hydroplane race and if the bookkeeper gives us the thumbs up... I might have to run a kart covered in pink stickers, but oh well, count me in... I might be kinda partial to this class, but I would really like to see it grow regionally... Its very affordable, low maintenance, and pretty simple to make one run well if it was built right... Plus I have enough Yamaha stuff to run for 25 years, so I'd like to use it up! If we end up going, we can bring our PILE of pipes... We have a BUNCH of big pipes... of all varieties... That way everyone will have something similar to everyone else... Hope it works out... Brett

Here is the list I have so far
1. Matt 2. Brett (Maybe) 3. Laci 3. Jerry 4. Donny Clark 5. John (?) 6. Sam (? if you can find a yamaha to run?) 7. Clayton (Maybe) 8. Wilsons (No word yet)
Anybody who needs or whats to be added post something or message me.
Also if we can get guys from tacoma to race too that would be sweet, unfortunately I dont know any of them.
I wish we could run yamaha at IKF (hopefully I can afford that) , as far as I know by IKF rules say if you show up with 3 karts they have to let you race. Now getting it to be a points and championship class is different, but I don't think there is any reason to do that mid-season. If anything we should wait until next year.
At spokane I think we will be more than welcomed since they avg about 30 entries on raceday with 4-5 classes

It sounds like a lot of fun. I have other obligations on the 18th, but could be there on the 19th. I'm not sure if it would make sense for us, though, if the racing starts on Saturday.
It sounds like there may be some concern that our 2-cycles might not be welcome there, huh? I am certainly not making any commitments without getting some details confirmed.

it would be stupid on their part to not let you run. I mean, they avg 30 karts? come on, I am sure they would... TAG is 2 cycle too and they have those... and to make the IKF class Regionaly Maybe the club could say that members at TCKC wants to travel... it would be 55 for race day, and like 25 for friday, if u pratice, but yyeah... You guys would need to know what class to run, Yamaha Heavy, Sr Supersportman (pipe or can), and the other one...But for the spokane thing not lettiung u run, Read Socalracer first post, it says they want to run yamahas
