I was just curious if anyone knew why we don't run the track backwards at all. I would like it just to add another variation to the track. I've done it before years ago in a pumpkin race, and wonder why it just couldn't be another variation rotated into the schedule along with long/short track.

I never did think about that! I doubt it can happen for the next club race this weekend but it would throw a variation for everyone into the mix and for a lot of people, it would be a fresh-level playing field.
Club president? How about it?

I'm sure a lot of other people would enjoy it as well! I hope it can happen besides just at the Pumpkin Race.

it's unsafe because corner Number one is a blind corner...

it's not blind enough to make a wreck not visible. And for racing a blind corner, how many race tracks have blind corners? Quite a few, and those are the challenging ones, but also fun because of that reason. I think it could be done, the only thing to sort out would be the pit road.

If you think about it, it would be very cool. But I don't think it will happen. Not in a club race at least.

blind corners unsafe, yea tell that to every series and racer at the nurburgring, 120 flat out over crest blind is normal.
reverse might be cool. id rather see a enduro race, like 8 hr rotax or 4 cycle with teams of 3 or 4. make it a charity race too.

I think it would be fun to try on a non points race. The track is set up to run the way it is, running it backwards would cause alot of wrecks in the first corner since you would have to be single file no passing. Im game to try but why change it when it is allready awesome!!!

I think they do it during a non-points race, Pumpkin Race!

We will run a "backwards race" at the Pumpkin Race when the kart counts are a little lower and there is alot less on the line (no points).
There are alot of issues such as pit road setup and permanent barriers (hay bails & tires) that would make it a difficult task to pull off. But people that have run it backwards say it's a blast. So leave your schedules open for the Pumpkin Race, it's a really fun weekend.

Running the track in reverse direction is a blast and has been a topic of discussion many times. The biggest issue is run off room in several areas and until we can come up with a solution to that it is not going to happen for a points race.
