We will be having a work/clean-up party on Saturday October 2nd. As you all have noticed, the weeds have made a strong comeback this fall. A short list of the thing we need to accomplish is...
Clear all the tumble weeds that have cropped up and burn them.
Pull all the goat head/tack weed and burn them in as hot of fire as we can to kill the seeds.
Repair and replace all the broken sprinklers on the track and replace the wire and valves in the grandstand area.
Remove the fence fabric from the pit fence so the tumbleweeds can blow thru this winter.
Move all the lights from beside the scale house and clean up that area.
Do a thorough cleaning of the restrooms and the rest of the buildings.
Build more trash cans.
So we need as many club members out to help as possible so we can make short work of all of this. Even if you only have a few hours, your help would be greatly appreciated. Bring your gloves, rakes and shovels.
Thanks!

Just curious, does this mean no practice on Saturday?

That's correct, most likely it will take all day to get the work done, especially if the help is minimal. The majority of the work needed cannot wait until the final clean-up. We're hoping that Sunday the track will be open for practice but that depends on how much help we get on Sat. All help will be appreciated and bringing extra adult hands will help too.

Couple more things to add to the list.
Cut the roots of the trees in the hot pit and the entrance to the chicane.
