Westwood has decided to forgo Friday Practice for this event, and adopt the same 1-day all-you-can-race format this year used at ORP, PIR and Pacific Raceways. We will respond to your questions on the WKA website www.westwoodkarting.org as quickly as possible. Below are info points that should address some questions for those planning to come up:
Pre-Registration - The pre-registration form is on our website www.westwoodkarting.org . To reduce raceday morning lineups we request that you pre-register if possible.
Border - Minimum requirements this year will be a Passport, Passport Card or Nexus card. Washington State residents can also use the Enhanced Drivers License. Children under 16 years do not require a passport as long as they are with a parent. We did not have any reports of trouble from the over 100 or so entries who came up to our Gold Cup Sprint events during the last three years. The Sumas crossing is the closest and most direct to the track. Mission is just 15 min north of the Sumas Border crossing. For further information check www.GetYouHome.gov.
Load-in times - we are expecting racers beginning Friday afternoon/evening and can help you get situated in the paddock. There is plenty of room for RVs campers etc. in the paddock. You are welcome stay overnight Saturday after the race if you prefer to make the trek home when you are fresh in the morning.
Fuel for Rotax and World Formula – will be 92 Octane only from Mission Chevron 32712 Lougheed Highway, Mission B.C., 5 min from the track.
Track Details - are on the Sports Car Club of BC website at www.sccbc.net/ where you'll find a schematic of the track.
Motels – We have confirmed a block of rooms at the Best Western in Mission (less than 5 minutes away from the track, at 604-820-5500. The address is 32281, Lougheed Highway, Mission, B.C. V2V-1A3. The rate is $90, double occupancy. Ask for the reservation under Westwood Karting Association. A list of local motels can be found at www.bchotels.org/cities/Mission
See you up there; we're looking forward to a great weekend of fun and racing complete with a Racers pot luck BBQ sponsored by Freybe Meats Saturday after the race. Cross-over sprinters are welcome to run and firsthand look at this sports car racing facility new on the road race calendar this year.
