I'm from Yakima and have been thinking about getting into karting for a few years. I'm 31 and I have a 6 year old son who wants to do everything I do. I really don't know too much about the sport at all. I did have a go-kart and dirtbike when I was a kid and I do some PC SIM racing that's about as experienced as I am. LOL, hahah! I would like some information on what would be best for me to start out with and what it all would take. I'm not a mechanic or rich, but I just learn as I go. I was thinking about driving down this weekend to check it out, what hours and times would be good to come down on Sunday? (hopefully it doesn't rain!) I know the season is over, but I want to be full go for next year! Thanks, Rob in Yakima

Rob,
Karting is something you & your son would have a great time doing. Your son is the perfect age to get into a kid kart. And as for what you'd like best just come down and check out what's out there. The 4-cycle classes (Animal & Clone) are the largest classes and are generally the most trouble free. Check out our classified section, there are some good karts for sale right now. So come on down Sunday and check us out, we will be out there rain or shine. Pit passes are only $5. And if you find something you like we still have a fun race coming up on Oct 23rd & 24th called the Pumpkin Race where you could come down and play around. Feel free to call me with any questions and track me down if you make it down Sunday

Heck yeah, I'm glad we came down. I was pretty impressed with the overall condition of the facility. It's a really nice track and everyone I talked to was more than willing to help. I'll have to see if I can find Spencer(my boy) a Kid Kart, he wants to try it, and I got two more kids I could pass it down to. Just for the simple fact of my budget a clone kart is probably what I'll be looking at, but man I really want to fly around on a shifter kart. That looks awesome!

Rob, Glad you and your son had a great time, the track, board members, volunteers and racers are the best you will find. You will not find a better facility anywhere. Give me a call sometime this week, if you are interested I may be able to let you drive one of my karts for the Oct. 24 pumpkin fun race. Stan.
