i didnt realize until this weekend that there is a way to keep the chain tight by using a rod/bolt from the frame... now my issue is i can not find anything that will fit in the hole and is snug. i have a 2003 emmick and the hole is to big for a 1/4 bolt and a 5/16 will not go in. i am assuming its a 7mm but i cannot find a bolt long enough (~5inches) at HD or ace. im sure i can make a 1/4 work for a weekend or if i can find a tap ill just make a 5/16 fit.
is there an easier way to do this besides tapping it?

Just find out what size and pitch the threaded hole is and go to Lowes,HD or ace and they should just have a long piece of threaded rod ( not bolt ). Get the threaded rod and two nuts that fit it, measure how long you need then cut the rod with a cut off tool or hacksaw and put a nut on each side of the frame hole to lock down the rod.
