I'm tired of the Clone dice roll. Either get rid of it, or make all classes do the same.
Just my humble opinion/rant...

You guys picked that class. Saying we all should do what the clones do is like saying we should all run Burris 55A 4.5/6.0 tires. If you don't like the dice roll so much, get a yamaha and run that class instead.

For sure I'll be racing another class next year, but you are not even in the ballpark with your analogy, socal. The dice roll wasn't introduced until the 3rd race of this season and we were never told it was going to be permanent... I'm sandbagging qualifying from here on out if it continues since there's no incentive to do it well.
If it's so fun as advertised, why not make all the classes do it? A legitimate question.

At Gold cup, all senior 4-cycle classes invert half the field always. Last year we had a couple races that we had 20+ guys and inverted half of that, no one complained, its just a way of evening out the field, and making you earn a win. Trust me, most of the clone class needs to learn some passing technique anyways, and the invert is great for that.

So did you just make the case for all classes to roll the dice, Ricky? We're not running Gold Cup here so why is just one class being manipulated?

I honestly wouldn't care if we did, as you recall i opted to start towards the back last race anyhow. The intent of the invert is to even the playing field, and make it fun, all it requires is patience. The invert is good practice for all involved, if you don't like it switch classes, there is no requirement to run the clone class.

Theres a lot of INTENTIONAL banging out there. Rob

I don't feel the need to reply often but here is my offering to the subject. My understanding is that the clone class was originally intended to be a “developmental” class for new drivers to the sport, as a cost effective and competitive entry into Kart racing. Clone racing has also become a great deal of fun for adept drivers to participate in due to the large turnout. As a new class to TCKC it is developing a life of its own; new questions come up at each event or so it seems. The bigger question being how do we take a field with so much disparity in equipment and know-how, and give everyone a taste of the clone experience, in regard to the original intention. I believe this is just the third season of clone racing it appears to doing quite well. Now for my opinion; If it matters to you what position you are competing for then look to race another motor, however, if you want to partake in the most competitive and largest field TCKC offers take a chill pill and enjoy the gift of competition, whether it be for first or last place. And to finish please identify yourself in your posts so that we may know who is writing/ranting, and most importantly rather than rant, come up with a comprehensive solution and present that here and to the club Board. Perhaps your solution will become the next rules for the class and make it even better than it is. Scott Wagner

I don't have that big of problem with the dice roll. The club has improved it since the 1st time we did it, but here's another thought of mine. It maybe an entry level class and that's where most new racers will start, but I'm not sure if I will be able to afford to move up next year or the year after that. So what is definitely an entry level class this year, for some us it might be the only class we can afford to run. I like to think of it more of an Economy Class than entry level. Rob Dutton, trackmagic #6 We think of it as both a "developmental" class and an Economy class. Unfortunately the spending has escalated more than we intended in the class and it's beginning to take the "economy" out of it, but that's not anything that can be controlled so it is what it is.

Though I respect the decision of the Board, I still dislike the dice roll.
Sincerely,
