Good Day to the Tri City karters. Please take look at the link posted below. There is a pretty good chance that this day will happen. I would like to encourage your club members to try to attend the event. There will be many Road Race type folks there and they are all very willing to assist with setup and gearing requirements. Kart shops will also be there with needed parts and such if you forget something. This day is the most track time you can obtain for the money spent and is a great way to find out about Road Race tracks. The track itself is extremely smooth and highly technical. It is well worth your time to attend. If you have any questions please send me an email. j2sullivan@comcast.netportlandkarting.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3079

ORP PRACTICE DAY To paraphrase the Master Card commercials: What could be better than having a warm sunny day in Central Oregon? Good friends and family enjoying a great day! The chance to drive one of the best tracks in the USA – Priceless Well, you now have that priceless opportunity to do just that. There will be an ORP practice day on Friday May 4th 2012. The event will happen if enough kart drivers and friends sign up to attend and run. This is the perfect opportunity to experience one of the best tracks in the USA. Also bring along someone that you have been talking to about getting into karting. For those sprint drivers that really have not yet had the full “Big Track” experience this is one of the most technical and fun tracks that you will ever have the chance to run. The track is extremely smooth, wide, fast, blind turns and elevation changes like you cannot experience at a sprint track. There will be a Road Race event at the track on Saturday May5th and this is a great way to find the setup that will be needed. There is also a Sprint Race at Pat’s Acres on Sunday May 6th. With three full days of kart track driving available you really will have the “Full Meal Deal” in karting. If you have not received an entry form in your email or regular mail, please send your email address to me or call to request one. Contact me via “PM” on the forum or at the listing below. The entry rate for the full day of practice will be $165. This is the most you will pay for the entry and will probably receive a rebate at the track if more than the minimum drivers sign up. Entry at the track on Friday will be $200 so the pre-entry method is the best way to get the lowest price and possible rebate. Please note that past ORP information is now also on the forum Road Race section. Please review the comments and video’s of the track. The link below will get to the section. portlandkarting.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3086

Reminder to all to send in your practice day entry. The entry is for the driver only and each driver can bring as many karts as desired. You can run them all day or till your arms fall off. The Gold Cup RR on Sat. can also be entered as an "All you can Race" event. The first time RR runner will have a reduced entry charge that is in effect for your first 3 RR events. This will enable you to also run at the brand new RR track in Shelton, WA and also at the Spokane RR event if you do not attend the Portland and Bremerton races.
Experienced RR drivers in all classes will be at the ORP track on practice day and are happy to answer questions and assist with setup in your class.
Looking forward to seeing and meeting the Tri City karters. Please either call me or contact via email. John Sullivan 503 737 9939 mobile j2sullivan@comcast.net
